Nueva solución cloud para data centers basada en SDN de ZTE

ZTE ha anunciado la disponibilidad de uSmartDC, una solución de software para centros de datos cloud, basada en redes definidas por software (SDN) y pensada para que los operadores puedan desplegar rápidamente nuevos servicios.

ZTE ha lanzado una nueva solución software para datacenters cloud basada en redes definidas por software (SDN). Con este servicio, ZTE hace su apuesta para posicionar el centro de datos virtual (VDC) como elemento clave para  futuras arquitecturas de red, carriers centrales y comtainers de servicios TIC y, por tanto, también como clave para la transformación de los principales operadores globales.

“La solución uSmartDC de ZTE puede ayudar a los operadores a desplegar arquitecturas de aplicaciones que son similares a Internet. También puede soportar y distribuir los  datacenters activos para lograr modelos innovadores y arquitecturas que son similares a la puesta en marcha de la entrada de internet, y poner en marcha innovadores proyectos piloto para el ensayo de nuevos servicios ", comentó Lu Ping, vicepresidente de ZTE durante la presentación de la solución en el MWC. 

La solución uSmartDC basada en SDN es una estructura con sistema de red abierta en la que el controlador SDN es el núcleo de la arquitectura de red SDN. Este controlador es compatible con diferentes tecnologías de red, con protocolos de interfaz southbound/northbound y conla programación dinámica con la que se pueden optimizar continuamente los recursos de la máquina virtual (VM) a través de los recursos empleados de monitorización. También proporciona un control unificado de interruptores OpenFlow y conmutadores no OpenFlow.

uSmartDC permite a los operadores construir cloud privadas virtuales atribuidas. Este servicio es compatible con los operadores en el desarrollo de servicios basados en la función de red de virtualización (NFV) que pueden evolucionar para proporcionar servicios gubernamentales y servicios de red empresarial al mismo tiempo para lo último en la convergencia de las TIC ", explicó Zhu Jinyun, vicepresidente de ZTE.

La nueva solución se basa en la plataforma OpenStack que proporciona compatibilidad con cloud pública y privada y también híbrida, lo que aportaría a los operadores una gestión más flexible y unificada. Además, detecta automáticamente el tipo de tecnologías que utiliza la empresa agilizando el proceso y acortando los tiempo de despliegue.

“If you went to bed last night as an industrial company, you’re going to wake up today as a software and analytics company.” For me, this statement by GE’s CEO Jeff Immelt captures the essence of the deep transformation facing manufacturing today. The industry is changing at a pace, driven by increased globalisation, fierce competition and increasing customer demand. OEMs, their suppliers, partners, customers and consumers – who increasingly use social media channels to influence future product development – are embracing game-changing technology that is redefining the manufacturing landscape.

Until relatively recently, tried and tested ways of working have served the industry well. But now, as many well-established businesses are finding out fast, manufacturing is no longer simply about making and selling products. It’s about integrating end-to-end operations across the entire enterprise ecosystem to anticipate what customers want, quicker and cheaper than the competition.

As well as reinventing traditional business drivers, ‘disruptive’ new technologies are also generating totally new drivers for manufacturing companies. Gartner predicts that by 2020, seventy per cent of all customer touch points will be digital. Emerging drivers also include the growing pressure for product quality, traceability and transparency and demands for increasing levels of service. The need to grow markets is leading companies into new areas of business – often into new industries – where they have to rethink supply chains and product strategies.

Take, for example, enterprise expansion strategies – globalisation is about shifting systems to different places in the world to where the future consumer is, and building new networks of supply chains and alliance partners.

Think about data too, for a moment. Data is both a huge challenge and opportunity – a big risk and a goldmine of vital information. We need to protect data and also turn it into intelligence that can help a business make great decisions for its future marketing and manufacturing strategies.

These trends, along with evolving customer and consumer needs, create enormous complexities for businesses’ operating models.
